LEVs are for outdoor use where they may be exposed to rain, moisture, and dirt. With wireless charging, the power transfer electronics are sealed and not exposed to the environment. These could include features such things as automatic payment of parking fees, reporting the maintenance state, or locating a public bike once it reports being connected to a public charger.
A standardized way of charging any type of private, city, or enterprise LEV also justifies investments in charging infrastructure for on-the-go charging. As it becomes easier to recharge batteries away from home, manufacturers will be able to use smaller batteries into their sleek LEV designs. What is wireless LEV charging?
Inductive charging works by creating a magnetic-resonance field between a transmitting pad on the ground (which is physically connected to the grid) and a receiving pad on the underside of the Light Electric Vehicle (like an e-bike or e-scooter). Wireless signals sent between the LEV and the charging system initiate and stop charging.
How efficient is LEV wireless charging?
Our wireless charging system transfers power with over 90 percent efficiency, which is comparable to conventional, wired high-power fast chargers.
